MY MINI MAKEUP HAUL.

Hey guys!
Wats up people? shey waa okay?

Every day I was always have a perfect  almost perfect blog post made up in my head.
Me in my head: "This will be very funny and precise. Something my wonderful readers would love."
For some weird reasons unknown to me i either end up writing them but don't post it. (you really don't want to see my drafts right now!)

On Instagram, I created a page for the blog early this year @auntyshulaonline. You can choose to follow or not. But most importantly come read our posts on here. I announced this post up there initially. That was on sunday before yesterday.

Sincerely speaking, I changed my mind about writing this post because after a lot of thinking, I felt it might actually be a BIT of show off BUT, if someone had written a post like this and I read it before buying I literally would be licking that persons feet. *L-I-T-E-R-A-L-L-Y! (laugh out loud).

So what changed auntyshula's mind? You guys remember that golden rule yeah?

DO TO OTHERS WHAT YOU WANT THEM TO DO TO YOU!

So I thought even though someone else might see it as a "show off", it might be pretty helpful to another person you know?

So cutting this super long story short. *some we are nothing but pencils in the hand of the creator shit! (if you don't get the joke we are not mates lol.. just kidding*

Lets get down to the business of da day  sorry, night here.

MY SEPHORA AND MAC STORE MAKEUP HAUL. yaayy!! Am dabbing while typing *wide grin

See what i did on SC. Lol..Smh.

So here's a break down with pictures of course.
All photo credit goes to my phone by the way..
And before I forget, this post is not a sponsored post o! I got them myself. In no particular order.

Since I learnt a bit of makeup techniques from JideofSt.ola (check him out on instagram @jideofstola, Very makeup savvy. Bless him), I can't stop thinking about makeup seriously! It has become a passion now. I dream of makeup. Am always looking at peoples work on IG, while watching tv and even news. LOL. Its that bad. Even my mum isn't helping out..

MUM:"haha shula sho ri makeup yen" (Did you see that makeup?)
Me: "ha, o bahd gan-an"                        (Damn!.. its badddd- good bad)

Then, am like I can totally do that. Already sculpting the persons face and sharpening eyebrows in my mind.

YES! I Know. I Know. Thats so cliché. Every single girl now is into makeup. elo joko jo.. copy copy!
I still think its a good thing you know. The more the better! Gradually, we all change the perspective or will I call it evolution of makeup on Planet earth. No more one line crying to be cleaned again on eyebrows, LOOL. I can't deal seriously! Lol. At least, most people know how a good eyebrow should look now, either just filled in nicely or threaded neatly. hehehe.

IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER...   SEPHORA STORE FIRST THOUGH,

1. TOO FACED BETTER THAN SEX MASCARA.
What?! "Better than sex" ke? Iru rubbish name wo niyen. That was exactly my thought the first time I heard the name of the mascara. But hey, its just a name and very catchy one also. You already know.. when people hear the S- word...tingles and euphoria (not me sha *side eye).

There are so many reviews on this product from beauty bloggers and you tubers, so i said why not?! I've being looking for a bad ass mascara myself for my super-curly-sometimes-annoying-lashes. Since I've gotten it I've used it twice. And, its not bad at all. It gives my natural lashes this very full look and my eyes.. P-O-P-P-I-NG! I highly recommend it.

By the way, I got it from Dubai, UAE and the name "SEX" wasn't allowed (you know how dubai is now-if its not Halal food too nobody will buy *side eye) So, it was replaced with "LOVE" instead. For morals' sake I guess.

2. DUO Striplash Adhesive
Since I got those lashes from Isoken, (Did you miss that post? click here) my body have being itching to try them on. SO, I did a little research on some lashes glue and DUO had me thinking so i got it.

Although I have not tried it yet, I've got a good feeling. My guts don't lie. *some olivia pope shit! Lol.

3.URBAN DECAY BROW TAMER AND BROW BEATER

Brow tamers were made from ME! Those brows never gets laid..
Conversation between me and my brows;
ME: My brows will be on fleek today..imma be getting this face snatched! (happy dance)
BROWS: (giggles) The way we are going to scatter leg today ehn!
(15mins later)
ME: (confused) But my brow hairs were laid when i drew them?!

So basically, brow tamers like the name implies tame stray brow hairs. It kinda looks like a mascara since it also has a spoolie but i guess its more liquid-y and not as black as mascaras. Urban decay did a good one. It's pretty sleek.

The brow beater on the other hand, consists of a spoolie and brow pencil to draw the brow or fill in. It is very smooth to use. I love it mehn!

4. SEPHORA PRECISION SPONGE
I actually wanted beauty blender sponge initially but, the bills were not smiling so I played the role of a smart shopper instead (don't use your 10 fingers to eat!)

These was way cheaper and  I figured it would do the job perfectly! It hasn't being bad. It blends very well even. I highly recommend it!

And yes its PINK. So cute.

5. SEPHORA DAILY MAKEUP BRUSH CLEANER (60ml 2fl.oz)
The way you use your makeup brushes says a lot about your personality. No. On a serious note! I've taken a lot of effort into cleaning my brushes, tools and especially blending sponge after each use. It prevents bacteria buildup and transfer of skin irritations. Seriously, save yourself that mess and clean up those brushes!! Its a little small though.

I just spray these on the brushes and clean with a tissue paper and you're good to go. No rinSing needed. Don't know why they used "C" though. But its very travel friendly because of its size.

MAC STORE

M.A.C - That name gives me shivers down my spine. When someone says MAC, what I actually hear  is 'EXPENSIVE'. Kilode? I can just imagine the situation in NIGERIA MAC stores at the moment because of the dollar-naira fluctuation.
Anyways, I managed to get two products from them (two only).

 6. MAC EYE BROWS (SPIKE)
The number of times I saw these used by you tubers ehn! (melanin popping ladies ofcourse). Well, I like it and its actually good for when you're rushing out just to fill out nicely. Good packaging too. Its has these screwy thing so you can consciously control how much brow pencil comes out of the stick.

7. MAC FLUIDLINE BROW GEL LINER
You already know when its serious tern up time, you need to fill those brows properly girl! Most preferably with a brow gel. Not bad at all. I like the product consistency!

(My photography game on point)

OOPS... I almost forgot I also got something from MAYBELLINE..YASS..

8. MAYBELLINE FIT ME! anti shine stick (COCONUT)
                     The famous coconut moka (355).
Oo Bahd Gan-an! Very Lovely. I Love it. Its so nice for these our hot climate and it remains matte.
No greasy or oily shine. And it blended well into my complexion. NO HASSLES. The packaging? Superb! No Mess! Just Rub! I Highly recommend it!

SO, that's my mini haul.

I hope someone enjoyed reading this and most importantly learned from this?

Let us know what you've tried below or recommend and if you have more reviews on the above products.
Cheers....

EXCLUSIVE MAKEUP SEMINAR WITH ISOKEN

Hello loves!
How are you guys doing? I promised to put up a blog post on my little adventure last weekend. So I attended a makeup class on Saturday with Isoken.
So how did I get to hear about it? Very funny seriously. I had a long day earlier on Friday and had to get home on time to catch up with a meeting I had later in the day. so I was like lemme even check I nstagram even though it has being so dead of late!! of course snapchat ti fortunately take over! (FOR NOW SHA).

So I saw this Yanga beauty post of real techniques brush set that looked familiar but the page reloaded so fast and moved to something else. So I all together just went to yanga beauty IG page. Then I saw this advert below.

And asked myself. What are you doing tomorrow? Its Starting by 1pm. Ample time! Time to get to know places and possibly connect with other people. But the first thing that caught my eye was the free tickets she was giving to 2 lucky people. I tried but I didn't win. But, i still went and paid and i don't regret it seriously. It was actually worth it!

So I got there around to 2, had an earlier appointment which didn't end till after 1. When I got there, there were so many girls siting around some having little conversations others like me busy on their phones. Probably snap chatting too.lol.

Apparently, the room we were supposed to use wasn't ready yet so we had to wait. I had mailed her a day before  that I would be paying at the venue so a lady walked up to me probably her P.A. not sure and asked for my ticket. I wanted to pay with my card so she went to check with Isoken and came back a couple of minutes later saying we will sort it out before I go and I was like oh kay is God giving me my own free ticket in style. lol. just kidding!

She handed me a lapel pin or badge. (no sure what its called). picture below.

Every other girl had it pinned on. Surprisingly i hadn't noticed till I was given mine. So we were all called in finally!! (My stomach was already rumbling). Not like i went there for the food or anything. oh kay! u gat me- part of the reasons. I like Awoff. (typical Nigerian)

As we entered, there were two cute little boxes on each chairs and  mirror on the table for each chair. cool Huh! I took a seat towards the back cos there were people who paid for VIP which i didn't know or arrangements they made but i didn't want to BÉ and get bounced to the back so i just maintained. and I actually later discovered I made the right choice. The front row was for VIP and the second row, I guess wasn't so sure.

Anyways, Isoken was very pleasant. she introduced herself formally and told us her age. 23! she actually looks bigger in person. NO OFFENSE! she has a pretty face and cute pair of upper tooth. she was just shiny. I could tell she loves glitters, her eyes were popping since apparently she has a fairy powder glitter makeup collection and her blouse and wrapper were studded. The ring light was not helping the glitters either, it was just like starring at a sky full of stars in a dark night. And did I forget to mention how  funny she was. Switching up accents like from 0-100 real quick bruh!!

She said before we started the class we could all help ourselves to the dessert and juice, feel at home and listen to soft naija music playing in the background. In my mind- NICE AMBIENCE, everything na branding!!- so we all helped ourselves although we were all shy at first but.. hey!! I took my time with eating o. no rush! then we started with me still fondling with a strawberry. Our model was a miss tourism in Nigeria, she introduced herself and the class officially started!

We started with the eye brows of course and ended with the lips as usual. I took a lot of notes lol, like a diligent student that i am. (Medical school has really changed my life). She used her fairy powder on the models eye which was very pretty and also her eyelashes collection aka,.falsies. the fixing of the lashes got almost half the class up for an upclose. For me i don't trust my glasses and i wanted to stretch my legs after a while. Lol.

Our model was really transformed and her beauty was enhanced which i think is one of the most important purpose of makeup, pictures were taken and we were asked to pick up smoothies at the little setup at the back of the class where the dessert were placed previously. And yeah, during the class we were asked to check our bags for L.A. Girl pro concealer if we didn't have (with other goodies of course) so as to collect after the class. which was after we went to the reception to take 'family' and individual pictures. lol! Which was fun!

At that moment it hit me!! I DONT KNOW HOW TO RELATE WITH MY FELLOW GIRLS. I couldn't even make any contacts. So bad. I guess I was feeling a typo weird way with so many girls in the room. You know the way we girls are now? oh! she greeted me, oh! she didn't greet me well, no! she's forming, chai! she can't even dress...BLA, BLA, BLA! i don't really know this girls and the least  i want in my life right now is drama! so i just shut up. Oh kay, i won't lie i was also a bit shy sha.  So..

We got back to the room i picked up my smoothie, collected my concealer in dark cocoa-since my color was not available-i figured that could come in handy in contour someday then, we finalized I go and withdraw and pay in cash. WHICH I DID! Had a little chat with Isoken, gave her a hug and was on my way!

WHAT ABOUT THE FREEBIES?!
Nna too like amebo. hehehe..

Okay so remember the mirror I mentioned above, we took it along! which one of the bags already had its empty carton to package back. The other bag was filled with the makeup goodies we got. Which were: (for me though)

1. JUVIA's contour brush (+1 to my brush collection. yay!)

2. L.A. Girl Eyeliner In SPECTRA BLUE. (can't wait to try it)

3. Lets lash it out Eni falsies. (beautiful packaging, like ankara patterns at the back)

4. Ijose Lux Princess fairy powder, (in this cute little gold pouch like a hidden treasure!)

5. L.A. Girl PRO.conceal in dark cocoa (as mentioned above)

Here's a picture of the full package below

YES! about the smoothie. it was really nice. i picked a watermelon smoothie randomly and there was a little green card note written in embossed pen in the same bag as the smoothie: (so cute)

ok it reads:  HO pretty
I hope u enjoy this drink as much as i enjoyed making them. smoothies are for the *____ as makeup is for the physical I just want to make healthy eating fun
                                                                                           XO
                                                                                         **________

*(sorry I've being trying to figure what was written there for days now but not clear enough, i guess 'muscle' or 'mind')

**( I'm guessing a name or signature!)
Not bad huh?!

EVERYTHING IS BRANDING O! Feeling a sense of importance are you? and of course you won't easily forget that drink in a hurry. For me, the smoothie was alright BUT, it had a little bit of hausa twist like a little tiny bit of kunu or ginger or both were added. which was okay but not the usual.
And did I mention the cake and cupcakes were heavenly. Lol. chipsy's oven it was called, in Games Village. To think I've lived there before and I never knew. smh!!

Anyways that was my little adventure in words. Tell me what you think and ask more questions. would be glad!
Cheers!

"NIRVANA": The Resort 2015 Collection By Awe!

Hi everybody,
I personally couldn't wait to share this brilliant piece with everybody since Monday but Medical School was taking a usual toll on me. Enjoy!

"Nirvana" The Resort 2015 Collection By Awe!
Nirvana, a word from the ancient Sanskrit meaning "to blow out", "liberation" or "freedom". It describes a state of profound peace of mind and release from suffering.

In this attempt, emerging fashion brand "awe! Lagos" presents a fashion collection dedicated to the freedom fight of the legendary Nelson Mandela, it also serves a major transition of the 2 year old brand in the Nigerian fashion scene.

The creative director of the brand Apooyin Abiola employs zig zag patterns, vertical lines and print as a medium to tell a story of freedom creating casual, chick, simple, sporty and minimal ready to wear fashion pieces.

"The concept behind the collection is to create a fashion collection that brings about a releases from the conventional and rather trite fashion ensembles into simple and minimal fashion pieces.

Featured: My Everyday makeup Routine.

Hi Readers,

I've Something exicting to share with you today. Remember my post on the Versatile Blogger Awards here! where I was nominated by this guru! So the same AMAZEE-BALLS Hadedeevah shared her everyday makeup routinue with us. How Thoughtful!
#DidIJustSayAMAZEBALLS.  Hehehehe.I must confess i did learn one or two. Wait! till you see her makeup corner in her room. Oh Oops! you cant see that. *Wicked grin.. Just talking with passion and downloading all the tips. Thanks babe. Shes also into fitness o. All YE FITFAM do check her out.
Enjoy!

Hello Guys, the makeup featured in this post are normally ones I reach out to on a daily basis especially when I'm in a hurry. There are some days when I might feel fancy and thus go for a more technical routine or add more colours, but this is rare, besides I work in a law firm, and so there's hardly any reason for me to go all out with my makeup. With this routine I achieve what beauty gurus call 'My Face but Better...' So, let's get right into it!

Nivea Men After Shave Balm (Sensitive)

This balm is the bomb! I use it as a primer and it's the best. This product has glycerin in it which keeps your makeup on all day. This balm is so inexpensive and you can get it anywhere for N1000. I found out about this from @nikkietutorials a youtube guru. she swears by this product and truly my makeup remains the same after a whole day and I hardly need to touch up.

Hegai and Esther Waterproof Eyebrow Definer

This is by a Nigerian brand and is a great dupe for Anastasia Beverely's Dipbrow Pomade. It makes your eyebrow look Natural and not looking too overdone. A little goes a long way and so just gently dip your eyebrow brush into it and fill in your eyebrow then blend it with your spoolie brush. It sells for N2500.

Kiko Milano Concealer

I'm sure this quite explanatory, I use this to cover any spot on my face before applying BB cream or foundation.

L.A Girl Pro BB Cream

I prefer using BB creams rather than slapping my face with foundation everyday. I found out that applying foundation everyday is not good for my skin, it blocks my pores and  spreads bacteria thus causing breakouts and black spots. BB cream is better for me especially in a country like Nigeria where it's always hot all year round. BB cream is very sheer and allows your skin breathe while still giving your face some form of coverage. The best tool to apply this with though, is a damp beauty blender rather than a brush due to it being quite sheer. It's advisable to apply concealer first, because this cream doesn't hide any flaws. I got this at a random store for N2200.

Maybelline Color Tattoo in Gold Shimmer

This cream eye shadow is what I use everyday when I don't want to bother with any eye makeup. It lasts all day and is quite shimmering as the name claims. The gold gives a nice touch of colour to my face. I simply apply it over the top of my eyelid. I got this online at Konga.

Maybelline the Colossal Mascara and Kajal

I use the kajal to make a subtle winged liner and to define my lower eyelid, then I apply the mascara to my lashes. I absolutely love this mascara and would definitely repurchase it. It actually does what it claims and adds volume to my lashes. The mascara is N1200 and the kajal N800 at House of Tara stores.

Sleek Lip Liner in Rich Brown
I normally wear a nude lipstick and so this is a very important step. My lips are naturally two toned and so after applying foundation or BB cream over my lips to give it one tone, I line my lips with this to define it. I got this for N600 at Invivos store.

Inglot Lipstick in Shade 49

I love this nude, it's the best lip colour for women of colour. I dedicated a whole blog post to it so I won't rave about it too much. I love that the formula is cremesheen and so it applies like a dream. It retails at N2650 in all Inglot stores in Nigeria.

Zaron Mattifting Compact Powder

This is a very important step as I have combination skin, that is, an oily t-zone. So a mattifying powder is a must to set my makeup. I use this one by Zaron and it retails for N2995. It honestly isn't my favourite and so I might not repurchase, but it works well enough.

Zaron Perfect Finish

I use this to set my face when I'm all done. This is a very important step as it stops your makeup from looking cakey and gives it a natural airbrush finish. This is especially needed after I go all out on my face with different products and so it helps to blend into a seamless finish. It retails for N3000 at Zaron stores nationwide.

What have you learnt? Which have you tried? Comments or Questions? We'll be glad to see your feedbacks.

Aunty Shula!
Cheers!
